Remembering David B. Snodgrass, Class of 2015

Colonel David B. Snodgrass, age 49, of Fairfax, VA, formerly of Rogersville, died suddenly of an apparent heart attack Saturday, June 20, 2015 in Columbus, GA.


David was born December 11, 1965 in Rogersville.

He was a graduate of Cherokee High School Class of 1984.

David received an appointment to the United States Military Academy in
West Point, NY and graduated in 1988. He served his country proudly and honorably in the United States Army for 26 years.

Col. Snodgrass received his Masters of Defense Studies from the National University of Bangladesh and his Master of Military Arts and Science from the United States Army Command and General Staff College. He also attended the United States Naval War College and received a Master of National Security Strategy.

His last assignment was as an instructor at the National War College in Washington, D.C. David is a veteran of the Gulf War, Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

David is survived by his wife of 25 years, Cindy Euverard Snodgrass, and their two children, Danielle Snodgrass and Andrew Snodgrass; his parents, Bill and Alice Heird Snodgrass of Rogersville; his sisters, Janice Snodgrass Smith and husband, Dean of Newnan, GA and Billie Ann Snodgrass Gebb and husband, Wayne of Lexington, KY.

David is preceded in death by his sister, Kim Snodgrass Vaughn.

David Snodgrass will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery on July 30th at 0900.  The interment is open to all; interested members of the NDU family are invited to attend to honor David’s service to our nation and to support Dave’s family.  Uniform is class A with service cap or civilian business attire.
