Lt. Gen. Marciano Norman, Class of 2006, Inducted into the International Fellows Hall of Fame

Lieutenant General Marciano Norman was selected on October 17th, 2011, as Chief of the Indonesian State Intelligence Agency (BIN). General Norman graduated from the Indonesian Military Academy in 1978 and began his military career by commanding the Tonkav 7 Platoon in the Kodam Jaya military area.

 

He then held various positions within Kodam Jaya, including with the 7th Calvalry. In 1993 he graduated from Army Command and General Staff College. In 2006 he attended the US National Defense University as an International Fellow and graduated from the National War College. He also attended the National Resilience Institute (LEMHANAS) and completed the Military Resort Commander Course (SUSDANREM). He then held the position of Director of Strategic Enivornmental Analysis at the Ministry of Defense in Indonesia. From 2008 to 2009 Norman commanded the Indonesian Presidential Guard and in 2010 he assumed position as Commander of Jakarta Military Area Command (PANGDAM JAYA). In April 2011, Lieutenant General Norman became the commander of the Amry Training and Education Center, a position which he held until October 2011. He has been awarded Meritorious Services Stars and Army Stars as well as numerous service medals in Indonesia. General Norman also currently serves as the Chairman of the Indonesia Taekwondo Association. He is also married with five children.
