Howell, who has been selected for the grade of major general, currently director of operations, Headquarters Air Force Special Operations Command, Hurlburt Field, FL, has been assigned as commander, Special Operations Joint Task Force-Afghanistan, US Forces-Afghanistan, US Central Command, Kabul, Afghanistan.
